LISTEN: The man attempting to be the first to busk at every London Underground Station

February 7, 2026
in Europe

Australian musician Dan Tredget, 29, has taken on an ambitious challenge in the bustling city of London. He is attempting to busk at every single London Underground station, with the goal of raising money for the homelessness charity Glass Door. This feat has never been accomplished before, making Tredget the first person to attempt it.

Busking, or street performing, is a common sight in London’s underground stations. Musicians, magicians, and other performers use this platform to showcase their talents and earn some money. However, Tredget’s mission is not just about entertaining the commuters, but also about making a positive impact in the community.

Tredget, who hails from Melbourne, Australia, has been living in London for the past five years. He has always been passionate about music and has been busking in the city for a while now. However, he wanted to do something more meaningful with his talent. That’s when he came up with the idea of busking at every London Underground station to raise funds for the homeless.

The idea for this challenge came to Tredget when he was approached by Glass Door, a charity that provides shelter and support to those experiencing homelessness in London. He was inspired by their work and wanted to do his part in helping the homeless community. Tredget believes that music has the power to bring people together and make a positive impact, and he is determined to use his talent for a good cause.

Tredget’s journey began on a chilly morning at the Wimbledon station, where he set up his guitar and started playing. The commuters were initially curious, but as they stopped to listen, they were captivated by his music. Some even stopped to chat with him and donate to the cause. Tredget’s performance was a hit, and he raised a significant amount of money on his first day.

Since then, Tredget has been travelling to different underground stations every day, playing his guitar and singing his heart out. He has been receiving a warm reception from the commuters, who appreciate his efforts to raise awareness and funds for the homeless. Tredget’s performances are not just limited to playing music; he also takes the time to talk to people and educate them about the issue of homelessness in London.

Tredget’s journey has not been without its challenges. He has faced some logistical issues, such as getting permission to perform at certain stations and dealing with the unpredictable London weather. However, he remains determined and motivated to complete his mission.

His efforts have not gone unnoticed, and he has been receiving support from various individuals and organizations. The London Underground staff have been accommodating and have even allowed him to perform at some of the busiest stations during rush hour. Tredget has also been featured on local radio stations and has gained a significant following on social media, with people cheering him on and donating to the cause.

Tredget’s journey is not just about raising money; it’s also about raising awareness. He wants to use his platform to shed light on the issue of homelessness and encourage people to take action. He believes that everyone has a role to play in making a positive change in society, and his mission is a testament to that.

As Tredget continues his journey, he hopes to inspire others to use their talents for a good cause. He also hopes to break the stigma surrounding homelessness and show that anyone can make a difference, no matter how big or small.

So far, Tredget has busked at over 100 underground stations and has raised thousands of pounds for Glass Door. He still has a long way to go, but he remains determined to complete his mission and make a meaningful impact in the lives of the homeless.

If you happen to come across Tredget at one of the London Underground stations, be sure to stop and listen to his music. Not only will you be entertained, but you will also be contributing to a great cause. Let’s support this talented musician in his mission to make a positive change in our community. Together, we can make a difference.
