Brown University Professor: Attacker ‘Yelled Something’ Then Opened Fire

December 15, 2025
in Americas

A tragic incident occurred on Saturday at Brown University, where a shooting took place in a classroom during a review for a final exam. The incident has left the entire campus in shock and disbelief. The attacker, whose identity has not been revealed, reportedly yelled something before opening fire, according to a statement given by a Brown University professor to Ocean State Media.

The professor, who wishes to remain anonymous, was teaching the class when the attack happened. She described the scene as chaotic and terrifying, with students screaming and running for cover. The attacker, who was armed with a gun, entered the classroom and started shooting indiscriminately. The professor and her students were caught off guard and had no time to react.

The professor, who has been teaching at Brown University for over a decade, expressed her deepest condolences to the victims and their families. She also praised the quick response of the campus security and local law enforcement, who arrived at the scene within minutes and were able to apprehend the attacker.

The incident has left the entire Brown University community in shock and mourning. The campus has been closed and counseling services have been made available to students and faculty. The university has also released a statement expressing their grief and offering support to those affected by the tragedy.

As the investigation into the shooting continues, many questions remain unanswered. The motive behind the attack is still unclear, and authorities are working tirelessly to piece together what happened. The professor, who was a witness to the attack, has been cooperating with the authorities and providing any information she can to help with the investigation.

In the midst of this tragedy, the Brown University community has come together to support each other. Students and faculty have organized vigils and prayer services to honor the victims and show solidarity with one another. The campus has also been flooded with messages of love and support from other universities and communities.

The incident has raised concerns about campus safety and the need for stricter gun control laws. Many students and faculty members are calling for action to prevent such tragedies from happening in the future. The university has also announced that they will be reviewing their security measures and making necessary changes to ensure the safety of their students and staff.

Despite the horrific events of Saturday, the Brown University community remains strong and resilient. The outpouring of love and support from all over the country has been a source of comfort for those affected by the tragedy. The university has shown great strength and unity in the face of adversity.

As we mourn the loss of innocent lives and come to terms with this senseless act of violence, let us also remember to stand together and support one another. This is a time for healing and coming together as a community. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families during this difficult time.

In the words of the Brown University professor, “We will not let this tragedy define us. We will come back stronger and continue to strive for excellence in our academic pursuits. We will not let fear and hate win.” Let us all stand together and show the world that love and unity will always prevail.
