Marlow: Why I’m Devastated That Jerry Nadler Is Stepping Down

September 3, 2025
in Americas

On Tuesday’s “Alex Marlow Show,” host and Breitbart Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow shared his thoughts on Jerry Nadler’s retirement. Nadler, a Democrat and the current Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, announced that he will not seek re-election in 2022. Marlow expressed his dismay at the news, stating, “This is one that is devastating, absolutely devastating for me and that is Jerry Nadler is stepping down.”

Marlow went on to explain why Nadler’s retirement is such a blow to him personally and to the political landscape. He praised Nadler for his dedication and hard work as a congressman, saying, “Nadler is amongst the most powerful Democrats in the House of Representatives and has been for a very long time.” Nadler has served in Congress for nearly 30 years and has been a key figure in shaping legislation and conducting investigations.

The host also highlighted Nadler’s role in the impeachment proceedings against former President Donald Trump. Nadler was one of the managers of the House impeachment team and played a significant role in the first impeachment trial in 2019 and the second one in 2020. Marlow noted, “He’s been so involved in the impeachment process, which I think is the defining issue of our time.”

Marlow also praised Nadler for his unwavering commitment to his party and his beliefs. He said, “Jerry Nadler is a true believer in the far-left progressive agenda. And he’s been a real thorn in the side of conservative and center-right thinkers for decades.”

Despite their political differences, Marlow emphasized his respect for Nadler and his impact on American politics. He stated, “I don’t agree with Jerry Nadler on anything, but I respect him. He’s been a force to be reckoned with.”

Nadler’s retirement has sparked speculation about his successor and the future of the House Judiciary Committee. Marlow expressed his concern about who will take Nadler’s place, saying, “I’m very curious to see who’s going to step up and fill those shoes. And I hope they do so in a way that’s respectful of the institution and respectful of the country.”

In conclusion, Marlow made it clear that Nadler’s retirement is a significant loss for the political landscape. He stated, “This is a big deal. This is a big loss for the country. This is a big loss for the conservative movement.” He also urged his listeners to reflect on Nadler’s legacy and the impact he has had on American politics.

In the end, Marlow admitted that he is devastated by Nadler’s retirement and the void it will leave in Congress. He said, “I’m really, really sad to see him go. He’s been such a force for so long.” Nadler’s departure will undoubtedly be felt by both Democrats and Republicans alike, as they navigate the future of American politics without his presence.
