Bass on Trump Criticizing Her on Permits: He Doesn’t Know What He’s Talking About, But There Are ‘Problems All Over’

During an interview on Friday, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass addressed criticism from President Donald Trump regarding permits in the city. The interview, which was aired on “The Issue Is,” saw Mayor Bass dismissing Trump’s remarks as ill-informed and baseless.

Mayor Bass opened up the discussion by stating that President Trump “has no clue about what he is talking about” when it comes to permits in the city of Los Angeles. She asserted that Trump’s comments were made without any knowledge or understanding of the actual issues at hand. She went on to say that “there [are] problems all over,” but that the president’s lack of knowledge is exacerbating the situation.

The mayor’s comments come in response to Trump’s recent criticisms of how permits are being handled in Los Angeles. The president had accused Mayor Bass and her administration of being unable to handle permits in a timely manner, which he claimed was hindering growth and development in the city.

However, Mayor Bass was quick to point out that this was not the case. In fact, she stated that the city has been making significant progress in streamlining the permit process and making it more efficient. She emphasized that the city’s goal is to provide a fair and transparent process for all individuals and businesses, regardless of their political affiliation.

Furthermore, Mayor Bass highlighted that the city is facing numerous challenges, including a lack of funding, increasing costs, and outdated infrastructure. She explained that these are not unique to Los Angeles but are widespread issues that many cities across the country are facing. Despite these challenges, Mayor Bass remains committed to finding solutions and improving the quality of life for the people of Los Angeles.

While the mayor acknowledges that there may be some difficulties in the permit process, she maintains that the city is constantly working to address these issues. She assured that the city is continuously reviewing and improving its processes to ensure that they are fair and efficient.

In addition to addressing Trump’s comments, Mayor Bass also discussed various other topics during the interview. She talked about the city’s response to the recent wildfires and the ongoing homelessness crisis. She stressed the importance of working together as a community to address these issues and make a positive change.

In conclusion, Mayor Bass’s remarks during the interview showed her resilience, dedication, and commitment to the city of Los Angeles. She emphasized that despite inflammatory comments from the president, the city remains focused on its goals of growth, development, and improving the lives of its residents. With strong leadership and a united community, Mayor Bass believes that Los Angeles can overcome any challenges and continue to thrive.
