Exclusive–Rep. Hageman Introduces ‘No Student Visas for Sanctuary Cities Act’

in Americas

A new bill has been introduced by Representative Harriet Hageman (R-WY) aimed at holding sanctuary cities accountable for their actions. This proposed legislation, titled the “No Student Visas for Sanctuary Cities Act,” seeks to address the issue of Democrat-controlled jurisdictions harboring illegal migrants.

Breitbart News has obtained exclusive access to the bill and the letter written by Rep. Hageman to President Donald Trump, pledging her support in stopping these cities from providing sanctuary to illegal immigrants.

The issue of sanctuary cities has been a contentious one, with many arguing that these cities are disregarding federal immigration laws and putting the safety of their citizens at risk. These cities have policies in place that limit cooperation with federal immigration authorities, making it easier for illegal immigrants to live and work within their borders.

Rep. Hageman’s bill seeks to address this issue by targeting one of the main incentives for illegal immigration – student visas. Under this proposed legislation, any city or jurisdiction that declares itself a sanctuary city will be ineligible to receive student visas for their educational institutions. This would not only discourage illegal immigration, but also hold these cities accountable for their actions.

In her letter to President Trump, Rep. Hageman expressed her concern for the safety and security of American citizens, stating that “sanctuary cities are a direct threat to our national security and the rule of law.” She also highlighted the fact that these cities are not only harboring illegal immigrants, but also providing them with access to education and other benefits meant for legal citizens.

The bill has received support from many Republicans, who see it as a necessary step in addressing the issue of illegal immigration. They believe that by targeting student visas, the bill will not only discourage illegal immigration, but also send a strong message to these cities that their actions will not be tolerated.

However, the bill has faced criticism from Democrats, who argue that it unfairly punishes innocent students and educational institutions. They also argue that it goes against the values of diversity and inclusivity that America stands for.

Despite the criticism, Rep. Hageman remains determined to see this bill through. She believes that it is the responsibility of the federal government to enforce immigration laws and ensure the safety of its citizens. She also believes that this bill will serve as a deterrent for other cities considering becoming sanctuary cities.

The introduction of this bill has sparked a national debate on the issue of sanctuary cities and illegal immigration. It has also brought attention to the need for comprehensive immigration reform that addresses the concerns of both sides.

In conclusion, Rep. Hageman’s “No Student Visas for Sanctuary Cities Act” is a bold step towards holding sanctuary cities accountable for their actions. It sends a strong message that the federal government will not tolerate cities disregarding immigration laws and putting the safety of its citizens at risk. As this bill moves forward, it is important for both sides to come together and find a solution that addresses the issue of illegal immigration while upholding the values of diversity and inclusivity that make America great.
