Are you a regular archive user who is passionate about improving services for fellow users? Do you want to play a role in shaping the future of The National Archives? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are currently seeking new voluntary representatives to join our User Advisory Group (UAG). This group acts as a bridge between The National Archives and its users, ensuring that the needs and opinions of archive users are heard and taken into consideration.

The User Advisory Group is an essential part of our commitment to continuously improve and provide high-quality services to our users. By having a diverse group of representatives from different backgrounds and experiences, we can better understand the various needs and expectations of our users. This allows us to adapt and tailor our services to better meet those needs.

As a voluntary representative, you will be a voice for all archive users and play a vital role in shaping the future of The National Archives’ services. Your opinions and feedback will directly inform our decisions and help us to prioritize our efforts in improving our services. This is a valuable opportunity to make a real difference in the archive community and contribute to preserving and sharing our nation’s history.

To be a part of the User Advisory Group, you must be a regular archive user who is passionate about improving services for all users. Your knowledge and experience as an archive user are essential in helping us understand the user perspective. Your role will involve attending regular meetings with other representatives and National Archives staff, where you will have the opportunity to provide feedback, suggestions, and recommendations.

One of the main responsibilities of the User Advisory Group is to review and provide feedback on new and existing services at The National Archives. This includes online services, events, exhibitions, and the physical archive itself. Your input will help us ensure that these services are user-friendly, accessible, and meet the needs of our diverse user base.

Moreover, as a voluntary representative, you will also have the opportunity to get involved in special projects and initiatives that aim to improve the overall user experience. This could involve collaborating with National Archives staff on developing new services or providing feedback on pilot projects. Your participation could truly shape the direction and development of new services at The National Archives.

By joining the User Advisory Group, you will also have the chance to network and collaborate with fellow archive users. This is a valuable opportunity to connect with others who share your passion for history and archives. It is also an excellent opportunity to learn from others, share best practices, and gain new perspectives.

Furthermore, your involvement in the User Advisory Group will give you an inside look into The National Archives’ operations and decision-making processes. You will have the opportunity to learn about the challenges and considerations involved in providing archive services and contribute your insights to finding solutions. This is a fantastic chance to expand your knowledge and understanding of the archive sector.

We strongly believe that the User Advisory Group is an essential part of our commitment to providing high-quality services for our users. Your participation and input will help us to continuously improve and adapt to the changing needs of our users. By becoming a voluntary representative, you will have a direct impact on the services we provide, contributing to the preservation and sharing of our nation’s history.

To apply, please visit our website and fill out the application form. The application process is quick and straightforward, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

In conclusion, the User Advisory Group plays a critical role in shaping the future of The National Archives’ services. As a voluntary representative, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference and contribute to the preservation and sharing of our nation’s history.
