DJ Warras Murder Case: Suspect Victor Majola Denied Bail

January 27, 2026
in Africa

The Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court has denied bail for Victor Mthethwa Majola, the main suspect in the murder of popular media personality Warrick “DJ Warras” Stock. The decision was made during Majola’s appearance in court on Monday, where he faced charges of premeditated murder and conspiracy to commit murder. The 22nd of December 2025 was a tragic day for the South African entertainment industry as news of Stock’s untimely death shook the nation.

Stock, who was known for his charismatic radio persona and vibrant personality, was found dead in his Johannesburg apartment on the morning of December 22nd. The news sent shockwaves through the country, with fans, colleagues, and friends expressing their disbelief and sadness on social media. The police launched an investigation immediately, and after a few weeks, Majola was arrested as the prime suspect in the case.

The courtroom was packed with media and members of the public as Majola made his first appearance. The 27-year-old suspect, who is believed to have had a personal relationship with Stock, has been charged with premeditated murder and conspiracy to commit murder. The state argued that Majola posed a flight risk and that releasing him on bail would not be in the best interest of justice.

After hearing arguments from both the defense and the prosecution, the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court made the decision to deny bail for Majola. This means that he will remain behind bars until his trial begins, which could take months or even years. The decision has been met with mixed reactions, with some applauding the court’s decision and others expressing disappointment.

The family and friends of Stock have expressed their relief and gratitude towards the court’s decision. In a statement released by the family, they said, “We are grateful for the court’s decision to deny bail for the suspect. We believe this is the first step towards justice for Warrick. We hope that the court will continue to take the necessary actions to ensure that the perpetrator is held accountable for his actions.”

The South African entertainment industry has also shown its support for the court’s decision. Many celebrities and colleagues of Stock have taken to social media to express their satisfaction and to call for justice for their late friend. The hashtag #JusticeForDJWarras has been trending on social media, with fans and celebrities alike sharing their memories of Stock and calling for justice to be served.

The decision to deny bail for Majola is not only a win for the family and friends of Stock, but also for the South African justice system. It sends a strong message that no one is above the law, and that those who commit heinous crimes will be held accountable for their actions. It also serves as a reminder to the public that we must trust in the justice system and allow it to take its course in cases like this.

As we mourn the loss of DJ Warras, we must also remember to celebrate his life and the impact he had on the South African entertainment industry. He was a talented and vibrant personality who brought joy and laughter to many through his work. His legacy will continue to live on, and he will always be remembered as an icon in the industry.

In conclusion, the decision to deny bail for Victor Majola in the DJ Warras murder case is a step in the right direction towards justice for the late media personality. It is a victory for his family, friends, and fans, and a testament to the strength of the South African justice system. As the trial continues, we must continue to show our support and trust in the justice system to ensure that justice is served for DJ Warras.
