Deadly Negligence: Lesufi Confirms Expired Permit In Vanderbijlpark School Transport Crash

Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi has confirmed that the recent school transport accident in Vanderbijlpark, which tragically claimed the lives of 12 pupils, was a result of deadly negligence. Lesufi made this shocking revelation during a media briefing on Tuesday afternoon at the Sedibeng West District Office.

The accident, which occurred on Monday morning, has left the entire nation in shock and mourning. As officials continue to investigate the cause of the accident, it has come to light that the scholar transport vehicle involved was operating with an expired Public Driver’s Permit (PDP).

This devastating news has sparked widespread outrage and demands for justice. Many are asking how such a tragedy could have been allowed to happen, and who is responsible for ensuring the safety of our children on their way to and from school.

During the media briefing, Premier Lesufi expressed his deep condolences to the families of the victims and assured the public that the government is taking swift action to address this issue. He also emphasized the need for stricter regulations and enforcement when it comes to school transport vehicles.

Lesufi stated, “It is unacceptable that our children’s lives were put at risk due to the negligence of those responsible for their transport. We will not rest until those responsible for this tragedy are held accountable.”

The Premier also announced that the driver of the vehicle involved in the accident had been arrested and will be charged with culpable homicide. This comes as a small piece of comfort for the families who have been left devastated by the loss of their loved ones.

Furthermore, it has been revealed that the transport company responsible for the vehicle had a history of non-compliance with regulations. This raises serious concerns about the safety and reliability of the school transport system in Gauteng.

This tragic incident serves as a wake-up call for the government and all stakeholders involved in the transportation of school children. It is imperative that immediate action is taken to ensure that our children are transported safely to and from school.

Lesufi has vowed to tighten regulations and conduct thorough audits of all school transport vehicles in the province. He has also urged parents to be vigilant and report any concerns they may have about the safety of their children’s transport.

In the midst of this heartbreaking event, there is a glimmer of hope as the community has rallied together to support the families affected by the accident. Donations and messages of support have been pouring in, showing the strength and unity of the people of Gauteng.

The Premier has called on all citizens to come together and support the families during this difficult time. He has also urged the public to use this tragedy as a catalyst for change and to demand better safety measures for our children.

As the nation mourns the loss of these young lives, let us also use this tragedy as an opportunity to ensure that such a devastating accident never happens again. Our children deserve to be transported safely and securely, and it is our duty to ensure that this is a reality.

In conclusion, the Vanderbijlpark school transport accident has brought to light the dangerous consequences of negligence and non-compliance. It is a harsh reminder that the safety of our children should never be taken for granted. Let us honor the lives of the 12 pupils by demanding accountability and working towards a safer school transport system for all.
