Explosive Showdown: Mkhwanazi Fires Back After Durban Tycoon Accuses Him Of Deadly Plot

February 18, 2026
in Africa

A war of words has erupted between KwaZulu-Natal’s top cop, Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, and a Durban security company owner, with both sides trading serious allegations in public. The Provincial Commissioner of South African Police Service (SAPS) in KwaZulu-Natal, has threatened legal action against businessman Calvin Mojalefa Mandlakapheli Mathibeli. Mathibeli, who runs Calvin & Family Security Services, has accused Mkhwanazi of plotting to kill him and his family.

The tension between the two parties has been building up for some time now, with Mathibeli claiming that Mkhwanazi has been targeting his security company and trying to shut it down. He also alleges that Mkhwanazi has been using his position of power to intimidate and harass him.

In a recent press conference, Mathibeli made some shocking allegations against Mkhwanazi, claiming that the top cop had hired hitmen to take him out. He also accused Mkhwanazi of being involved in corrupt activities and using his influence to protect criminals.

Mkhwanazi, on the other hand, has vehemently denied these allegations and has hit back at Mathibeli, calling him a liar and a fraud. He has also threatened to take legal action against Mathibeli for defamation of character.

The public has been left stunned by this explosive showdown between the two men, with many questioning the motives behind these serious allegations. Some have even raised concerns about the safety of both parties, as well as the impact this feud could have on the community.

It is no secret that KwaZulu-Natal has been plagued by high levels of crime and violence, and the role of the police in maintaining law and order is crucial. The last thing the province needs is a public spat between the top cop and a prominent businessman, which could potentially compromise the safety and security of its citizens.

The allegations made by Mathibeli are extremely serious and cannot be taken lightly. If they are true, it would mean that the very person responsible for protecting the people of KwaZulu-Natal is involved in criminal activities. This would be a huge blow to the trust and confidence that the public has in the police force.

However, it is important to note that these are just allegations at this point and have not been proven. It is also important to give both parties a fair chance to present their side of the story before jumping to conclusions.

In the midst of this heated exchange, it is crucial for the authorities to step in and conduct a thorough investigation into these allegations. The truth must be uncovered and justice must be served, regardless of who is involved.

It is also important for the public to remain calm and not let this feud escalate any further. We must remember that we are all part of the same community and it is in our best interest to work together towards a safer and more peaceful KwaZulu-Natal.

As for Mkhwanazi and Mathibeli, it is time for them to put their differences aside and find a way to resolve this conflict amicably. They are both influential figures in the community and have a responsibility to set a good example for others.

In conclusion, the war of words between Mkhwanazi and Mathibeli has caused quite a stir in KwaZulu-Natal. It is a matter that needs to be taken seriously and addressed promptly. Let us hope that the truth will prevail and that this feud will be resolved in a peaceful and just manner. The safety and security of our community should always be our top priority.
