DOJ Antisemitism Task Force Head in ‘Special Message’: ‘Trump Has Your Back’ in Pledge to End Campus Hatred

July 21, 2025
in Americas

The Department of Justice’s task force head Leo Terrell sent a clear and resounding message to the Jewish students of America on Sunday. He promised that President Trump will stand firmly behind them and vowed to eradicate antisemitism from schools and universities. This declaration comes as the administration takes a bold and proactive stance against the growing issue of campus harassment targeting Jewish students.

Addressing the serious issue of antisemitism on college campuses, Terrell stated that President Trump “has your back.” This statement speaks volumes about the administration’s commitment towards protecting the rights and safety of the Jewish students in America. Terrell went further to pledge that the Department of Justice’s Antisemitism Task Force will work tirelessly to ensure that campuses become a safe and inclusive space for all students.

The Department of Justice’s Antisemitism Task Force was established in 2019 with the aim of addressing the increasing incidents of antisemitism in the country. The task force is working closely with the Department of Education to combat discrimination and harassment against Jewish students in schools and universities. This initiative is part of President Trump’s broader commitment towards safeguarding the rights of all religious communities in America.

Sadly, the rise of antisemitism on college campuses has been a cause for concern in recent years. According to a recent report by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), there has been an alarming increase of antisemitic incidents on college campuses in the United States. The report highlights that there were 730 anti-Semitic incidents in the United States in 2020, with a significant number targeting college campuses.

The Department of Justice’s task force is determined to tackle this issue head-on and put an end to the spread of campus hatred against Jewish students. As Leo Terrell put it, “Jewish students should not have to choose between their heritage and their education.” The task force will be working closely with universities and colleges to ensure that campuses are free from bigotry and discrimination.

President Trump’s administration has shown unwavering support towards the Jewish community, both in America and abroad. In 2019, the administration signed an executive order to combat campus antisemitism, which aims to protect Jewish students from discrimination under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act. This decisive action by the President demonstrates his commitment towards creating a safe and inclusive environment for all students.

The Department of Justice’s task force is also working towards ensuring that schools and universities adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of antisemitism. This definition provides clarity on what constitutes antisemitic acts and behavior, making it easier to identify and address cases of discrimination against Jewish students.

The Anti-Defamation League has applauded the Department of Justice’s efforts in addressing antisemitism on campus. “We commend the Department of Justice for its leadership in combating antisemitism and its recognition that campuses are a critical battleground for this fight,” said Jonathan Greenblatt, CEO and National Director of the ADL.

As the Department of Justice’s task force continues its work, the Jewish students of America can rest assured that they have the full support of the administration. President Trump has made it clear that he will not tolerate any form of discrimination, and he is determined to protect the rights of all religious communities, including the Jewish community.

In conclusion, the Department of Justice’s task force head, Leo Terrell, has delivered a powerful message to Jewish students across America. With President Trump’s unwavering support, the task force is determined to eliminate antisemitism from schools and universities and create a safe and inclusive space for all students. Let us all stand together in the fight against bigotry and discrimination, and ensure that our campuses are places of learning and acceptance for all.
