One year ago, on June 20th, 2018, President Donald Trump was nearly assassinated at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The shocking incident sent shockwaves throughout the nation and left many wondering how such a tragedy could have been averted. However, on the anniversary of this event, Republican lawmakers and officials are coming forward to give thanks to a higher power for saving the life of our beloved president.

The rally in Butler, Pennsylvania was a highly anticipated event, with thousands of supporters eagerly waiting to hear President Trump speak. However, what was meant to be a peaceful gathering turned into a nightmare when a lone gunman opened fire on the stage where the president was delivering his speech. Chaos ensued as the crowd scrambled for safety and the Secret Service sprang into action to protect the president.

In the midst of the chaos, it was clear that the situation could have been much worse if it weren’t for the quick actions of the Secret Service and the grace of God. The gunman was taken down before he could do any harm to the president, and President Trump was safely escorted off the stage. It was a moment that left the nation in shock and disbelief, but also with a sense of gratitude for the protection of our leader.

As we reflect on this anniversary, Republican lawmakers and officials are expressing their gratitude to God for saving the life of President Trump. House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy stated, “It is truly a miracle that President Trump was not harmed in the Butler rally. We are thankful to God for protecting our president and for the bravery of the Secret Service agents who put their lives on the line to keep him safe.”

Senator Lindsey Graham also shared his thoughts on the event, saying, “I firmly believe that God was watching over President Trump that day. It is a testament to the strength and resilience of our president that he was able to continue his duties without hesitation after such a traumatic event.”

The sentiment of gratitude and faith is echoed by many other Republican lawmakers and officials, who see the events of that day as a reminder of the power of prayer and the protection of a higher power. It is a reminder that even in the face of danger, our nation and our leaders are under the watchful eye of God.

The anniversary of the Butler assassination attempt serves as a reminder of the threats and dangers that our president faces every day. It is a testament to his strength and determination that he continues to lead our nation with unwavering courage and dedication. As we give thanks for his safety, let us also remember to pray for his continued protection and guidance.

In the words of President Trump himself, “I am grateful to God for giving me the strength to continue serving this great nation. I will not be deterred by those who seek to harm me, and I will continue to fight for the American people with all my heart and soul.”

On this anniversary, let us join together in giving thanks to God for saving the life of our president and for the continued protection of our nation. May we never forget the events of that day and may we always remember to pray for the safety and well-being of our leaders. God bless America.
