Jasmine Crockett Accuses President Trump of Being ‘Racist’ Toward Liberian President

July 11, 2025
in Americas

On Wednesday, during a meeting with African leaders at the White House, President Donald Trump was accused by Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) of being “racist” and “embarrassing.” This statement caused swift criticism and backlash for the Congresswoman.

During the meeting, President Trump met with Liberian President George Weah to discuss issues related to trade and security. However, Rep. Crockett used this opportunity to make a baseless and unnecessary accusation against the President.

The Congresswoman’s remarks were not only uncalled for, but they also showed a clear lack of understanding and appreciation for the important relationship between the United States and African countries. This kind of rhetoric only serves to create unnecessary tension and division, rather than fostering productive dialogue and cooperation.

President Trump’s meeting with President Weah was an important opportunity to strengthen the partnership between the United States and Liberia. The President has repeatedly shown his commitment to working with African nations in a mutually beneficial way, and this meeting was yet another demonstration of that commitment.

Not only did President Trump welcome President Weah to the White House with open arms, but he also highlighted the important contributions that Liberian immigrants have made to the United States. In fact, President Trump has been a vocal supporter of legal immigration and has taken steps to improve the immigration system in order to protect American workers and promote economic growth.

Additionally, President Trump has specifically addressed issues related to African development and prosperity. In 2019, he launched the Prosper Africa initiative, which aims to increase trade and investment between the United States and African countries. This initiative has the potential to create millions of jobs and drive economic growth for both the United States and African nations.

It is clear that President Trump’s actions and policies towards Africa do not align with Rep. Crockett’s baseless accusations. Rather, they demonstrate a genuine desire to strengthen the relationship between the United States and African nations.

Furthermore, it is important to note that the President’s meeting with President Weah was not the first time he has met with African leaders. In 2018, President Trump hosted a historic summit with African heads of state and government at the United Nations. This meeting was an important step towards fostering stronger partnerships and addressing issues such as trade, security, and human rights.

President Trump’s efforts towards Africa have not gone unnoticed by the continent’s leaders. In fact, several African leaders have praised the President’s policies and initiatives, including his stance on immigration and trade.

Therefore, Rep. Crockett’s attempt to label President Trump as “racist” and “embarrassing” is not only false, but it also undermines the progress that has been made in strengthening the relationship between the United States and Africa under this administration.

In conclusion, it is disappointing that Rep. Crockett chose to use a meeting between two important leaders as an opportunity to make baseless accusations against the President. Instead of promoting division and tension, it is important for our leaders to work towards fostering stronger partnerships and cooperation. President Trump’s actions and policies towards Africa have shown that he is committed to doing just that, and it is time for critics to recognize and appreciate these efforts.
