Putin to push for multipolar world during China visit

Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to embark on a four-day visit to China, where he plans to advance the concept of a multipolar world order. Kremlin officials have revealed that Putin will be meeting with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, to discuss various issues of mutual interest and strengthen the strategic partnership between the two nations.

The concept of a multipolar world order, also known as polycentrism, is based on the idea that power should be distributed among multiple countries rather than being dominated by a single superpower. This approach promotes a more balanced and cooperative international system, where countries can work together to address global challenges and pursue their own interests without being subject to the influence of a single dominant power.

Putin has long been a proponent of this concept, and his visit to China is a clear indication of his commitment to promoting a multipolar world order. This is not the first time that Putin and Xi have discussed this topic, as they have previously expressed their shared vision of a multipolar world during their meetings at the BRICS summits and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summits.

During his visit, Putin is expected to discuss with Xi ways to strengthen cooperation between Russia and China in various fields, including politics, economy, security, and culture. The two leaders are also expected to sign a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding, which will further deepen the bilateral ties between the two countries.

One of the key areas of focus for Putin and Xi will be enhancing economic cooperation between Russia and China. Currently, the two countries have a strong economic partnership, with trade volume reaching $100 billion in 2018. However, both leaders believe that there is still untapped potential for further cooperation in areas such as energy, infrastructure, and technology. By working together, Russia and China can achieve mutual benefits and contribute to the development of a multipolar economic system.

Another important aspect of Putin’s visit will be the discussions on regional and global issues. Both Russia and China have similar positions on many international issues, and their cooperation is crucial in maintaining global stability and promoting a multipolar world order. The two countries have been working closely together in international organizations such as the United Nations, BRICS, and SCO, to address issues such as terrorism, regional conflicts, and climate change.

In recent years, Russia and China have also strengthened their military ties, conducting joint military exercises and signing agreements on defense cooperation. This partnership is not aimed at any other country, but rather serves as a means to maintain regional and global security and balance of power.

Putin’s visit to China comes at a time when the world is facing numerous challenges, including rising protectionism, trade tensions, and geopolitical conflicts. In such a scenario, the concept of a multipolar world order becomes even more relevant and necessary. By promoting this concept, Putin and Xi are sending a strong message of cooperation and partnership to the rest of the world.

The visit of the Russian President to China is a testament to the strong and strategic partnership between the two countries. It also reflects the shared vision of Putin and Xi for a multipolar world order, where all countries can coexist and prosper together. As the two leaders meet and discuss ways to strengthen their cooperation, the world can look forward to a more stable and balanced international system, where the interests of all nations are respected and protected.
