Cruz: Pritzker Is a ‘Disgusting, Racist Bigot’

September 4, 2025
in Americas

On Wednesday, during an interview on Newsmax TV’s “The Chris Salcedo Show,” Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) did not hold back his criticism of Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker (D). In fact, Cruz went as far as calling Pritzker a “disgusting, racist bigot.” This statement has sparked a lot of controversy and raised questions about the current state of politics in America.

Cruz’s comments came in response to Pritzker’s handling of the ongoing protests and riots in Chicago following the death of George Floyd. Pritzker has faced criticism for not taking stronger action to contain the violence and looting in the city. Cruz, who has been a vocal supporter of law and order, didn’t mince his words when expressing his disgust with Pritzker’s response.

It is unfortunate that a sitting Senator would resort to name-calling instead of engaging in a productive and civil discourse. Cruz’s statement not only undermines the seriousness of the issue at hand but also perpetuates the divisive rhetoric that has been plaguing our country.

Calling someone a “racist bigot” is a serious accusation, and one that should not be made lightly. It is especially concerning coming from a public figure like Cruz, who should be setting an example for respectful and responsible communication.

Governor Pritzker, who is Jewish, has been a vocal advocate for racial justice and equality. He has condemned the violence and called for peaceful protests and constructive dialogue. To label him as a “racist bigot” is not only baseless but also dangerous, as it further fuels the flames of division and animosity.

Furthermore, Cruz’s comments also reflect poorly on his own party. As a Republican, Cruz should be promoting unity and working towards finding solutions instead of resorting to name-calling and personal attacks. Such behavior only serves to further widen the political divide and hinder any progress towards a better future.

It is important for public figures to use their platform wisely and responsibly, especially during times of crisis. The ongoing protests and civil unrest have already caused enough division and disruption. We do not need our leaders adding more fuel to the fire.

It is also worth noting that Cruz’s statement is not only harmful to Governor Pritzker but also to the whole state of Illinois. By insulting its governor, Cruz is essentially insulting the people of Illinois who elected Pritzker to lead them. This kind of divisive rhetoric does not benefit anyone and only serves to further divide our nation.

In conclusion, Senator Ted Cruz’s comment about Governor J.B. Pritzker being a “disgusting, racist bigot” is unacceptable and uncalled for. It is disappointing to see a public figure using such language and resorting to personal attacks instead of engaging in productive dialogue. As Americans, we should strive to come together and work towards a better future, and that starts with respectful and responsible communication. It’s time for our leaders to set aside their differences and focus on finding solutions instead of resorting to divisive language.
