Fever’s Sophie Cunningham Blasts Fans After Another Dildo Is Thrown on the Court: ‘Going to Hurt One of Us’

in Americas

Another night, another green sex toy thrown onto the court of a WNBA game. This has become an all too common occurrence, and it’s time for it to stop.

The latest incident happened during a game between the Indiana Fever and the Phoenix Mercury. As the players were focused on the game, a green dildo was thrown onto the court, disrupting the flow of the game and potentially putting the players’ safety at risk.

This is not the first time something like this has happened. In fact, it seems to be a trend in the WNBA. Just a few weeks ago, a similar incident occurred during a game between the Chicago Sky and the Washington Mystics. And before that, there was a game between the Seattle Storm and the Atlanta Dream where a fan threw a pink dildo onto the court.

It’s unacceptable that this type of behavior is happening in a professional sports league. These players work hard day in and day out to perfect their craft and entertain fans. They deserve to be respected and treated with dignity, not have sex toys thrown at them while they’re trying to do their job.

Sophie Cunningham, a player for the Indiana Fever, spoke out about the incident after the game. She expressed her frustration and concern for the safety of her fellow players, saying “It’s just disrespectful. It’s disrespectful to the players, it’s disrespectful to the game, and it’s disrespectful to the fans who come out to support us.”

Cunningham also pointed out the potential danger of these objects being thrown onto the court. “It’s going to hurt one of us,” she said. And she’s absolutely right. These are professional athletes who are in peak physical condition, but they are not immune to injury. A flying sex toy could easily cause harm to a player, and that is not something that should be taken lightly.

It’s time for the WNBA to take action and put a stop to this behavior. The league has already released a statement condemning the incident and promising to take appropriate action. But more needs to be done. Increased security measures and stricter consequences for those who engage in this type of behavior are necessary to ensure the safety and respect of the players.

But it’s not just up to the league. Fans also have a responsibility to behave in a respectful manner. It’s understandable to be passionate about your team and want to show your support, but there are plenty of other ways to do so without resorting to throwing sex toys onto the court.

Let’s remember that the WNBA is a professional sports league, and the players are professional athletes. They deserve the same level of respect and support as any other athlete in any other league. Let’s not let these immature and disrespectful actions overshadow the hard work and dedication of these players.

In the end, it’s up to all of us to create a positive and respectful environment for the WNBA and its players. Let’s show our support in a way that honors the game and the players, and let’s put an end to these childish and dangerous acts. The WNBA and its players deserve better.
