Kenya president warns against ‘overthrow’ as 31 die in protests

in Africa

Kenyan President William Ruto has issued a stern warning against any attempts to overthrow the government through unconstitutional means. In a statement released on Wednesday, President Ruto condemned the recent violent protests that have been taking place in the country, claiming that they were sponsored by individuals with malicious intentions.

The President’s warning comes in the wake of several protests that have erupted in different parts of the country, with some turning violent and resulting in destruction of property and loss of lives. These protests have been linked to the ongoing political tensions in the country, with some groups calling for the resignation of the government.

In his statement, President Ruto emphasized the need for peaceful and lawful means of addressing any grievances. He urged all Kenyans to uphold the rule of law and respect the constitution, which clearly outlines the procedures for addressing any issues affecting the country.

The President also called out those behind the recent protests, accusing them of using innocent citizens to further their own selfish agendas. He warned that the government will not tolerate any attempts to disrupt the peace and stability of the country, and those found culpable will face the full force of the law.

President Ruto also highlighted the progress that the country has made in terms of development and economic growth, despite the challenges it has faced in the past. He urged Kenyans to focus on building a better future for the country, rather than engaging in destructive activities that only serve to hinder progress.

The President’s warning has been met with support from various leaders and citizens across the country. Many have expressed their concern over the recent protests and called for peaceful dialogue as the way forward.

In addition, President Ruto’s statement has also been praised for its firm stance against any attempts to undermine the government and its efforts to improve the lives of Kenyans. It serves as a reminder that the government will not tolerate any actions that threaten the peace and stability of the country.

The President’s warning also serves as a call to action for all Kenyans to work together towards a common goal of building a better and prosperous nation. It is a reminder that the country’s progress and development can only be achieved through unity and cooperation, not through violence and chaos.

In conclusion, President Ruto’s warning against attempts to overthrow the government through unconstitutional means is a clear message to those who seek to disrupt the peace and stability of the country. It is a call for all Kenyans to uphold the rule of law and work towards a better future for the country. Let us all heed this call and work together towards a brighter and more prosperous Kenya.
