Federal Data: Biden’s HHS Lost Contact with Half of All Migrant Children Released to Adult Sponsors in U.S.

Former President Joe Biden’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has been under scrutiny in recent weeks due to alarming reports of lost contact with Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC) after they were released to adult sponsors throughout the United States. According to federal data, almost half of these migrant children have been unable to be located by the HHS, raising concerns about their safety and well-being.

This issue came to light after a report by Breitbart revealed that the HHS, headed by Xavier Becerra, lost contact with nearly half of all UAC released to adult sponsors in the first two years of Biden’s presidency. This is a staggering number and one that cannot be ignored.

The UAC program, which was created in 2003, allows the HHS to release unaccompanied minors to adult sponsors while they await their immigration hearings. These sponsors are often relatives or family friends who have already established themselves in the US. However, it is the responsibility of the HHS to ensure that these children are placed in safe and secure homes.

But it seems that the HHS has failed in this responsibility. The federal data, obtained by Breitbart, shows that out of the 45,000 UAC released to adult sponsors, the HHS has been unable to locate 21,000 of them. This means that these children are essentially missing and their whereabouts are unknown.

This is a grave concern, not only for the children themselves but also for the communities where they have been released. Without proper supervision and follow-up, these children could potentially be at risk of exploitation, abuse, or even trafficking. It is the duty of the HHS to ensure the safety and well-being of these vulnerable children, and they have clearly fallen short.

It is important to note that this issue is not new. During the Trump administration, a similar report by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) revealed that the HHS had lost track of nearly 1,500 UAC released to adult sponsors. This was a serious issue then, and it is even more concerning now with the number of missing children almost doubling under the Biden administration.

The HHS has responded to these reports, stating that they are working to locate these children and ensure their safety. But their lack of oversight and negligence has put these children in harm’s way. It is unacceptable that the HHS has not been able to maintain contact with almost half of the UAC released to adult sponsors.

This issue also highlights the larger problem of immigration policies and the need for reform. The influx of unaccompanied minors at the US-Mexico border has put a strain on the HHS, and they have clearly been unable to handle the situation effectively. This is why it is crucial for the Biden administration to address this issue and work towards a more efficient and humane immigration system.

In the meantime, steps need to be taken to locate these missing children and ensure that they are in safe and stable environments. The HHS must also put in place stricter protocols and monitoring systems to prevent this from happening in the future. These children deserve to be protected and their well-being should be the top priority.

It is important to note that this issue should not be politicized. This is not about blaming one administration or the other. It is about the safety and well-being of innocent children. We must come together as a nation to address this issue and ensure that these children are not forgotten or neglected.

In conclusion, the news of lost contact with almost half of the UAC released to adult sponsors by Biden’s HHS is deeply concerning. The HHS must take immediate action to locate these children and ensure their safety. This issue also highlights the need for immigration reform and better policies to handle the influx of unaccompanied minors at the border. Let us not forget the well-being of these children and work towards a better future for them.
