Most Britons oppose Israel’s Gaza war, support ICC warrant for Netanyahu

in Europe

A recent poll conducted by YouGov and commissioned by Action for Humanity has revealed that a majority of Britons are strongly opposed to Israel’s military campaign in Gaza. The poll, which surveyed over 2,000 British adults, showed that a staggering 72% of respondents were against the actions of the Israeli government, with many describing them as nothing short of genocide.

These findings come as no surprise, as the conflict in Gaza has been making headlines around the world for weeks now. The Israeli government’s ongoing military campaign, which they claim is in response to rocket attacks from Hamas, has resulted in the deaths of over 200 Palestinians, including many innocent civilians, and has left thousands more injured and displaced.

The YouGov poll not only revealed the strong opposition to Israel’s actions, but it also shed light on the true sentiments of the British public towards the conflict. When asked about their views on the situation in Gaza, 62% of respondents described it as a humanitarian crisis, with 53% stating that they believe Israel is using excessive force against the Palestinian people.

Furthermore, the majority of Britons (59%) believe that the UK government should take a stronger stance against Israel’s actions in Gaza, with many calling for sanctions and other measures to be taken. This shows that the British public is not only aware of the situation in Gaza, but also deeply concerned about the suffering of the Palestinian people.

The poll also highlighted the stark contrast between the views of the British public and the actions of their government. While the UK government has expressed concern over the situation in Gaza, it has yet to take any concrete action to address the issue. This has led to frustration and disappointment among many Britons, who believe that their government should be doing more to help end the violence and bring about a lasting solution to the conflict.

One of the most alarming findings of the poll was the number of respondents (41%) who described Israel’s actions in Gaza as genocide. This term, which refers to the deliberate and systematic extermination of a particular group, carries a heavy weight and cannot be taken lightly. It is a clear indication of the severity of the situation in Gaza and the urgent need for the international community to take action.

Action for Humanity, the organization that commissioned the poll, is a non-profit group that aims to raise awareness about humanitarian crises around the world and advocate for positive change. The results of this poll serve as a wake-up call to the international community, urging them to take immediate action to stop the bloodshed in Gaza and address the root causes of the conflict.

The poll also serves as a reminder that the British public stands in solidarity with the people of Gaza and supports their right to live in peace and security. It is a testament to the compassion and empathy of the British people, who refuse to turn a blind eye to the suffering of others and demand justice for those who have been wronged.

In conclusion, the YouGov poll commissioned by Action for Humanity has shed light on the true sentiments of the British public towards the conflict in Gaza. It has revealed a strong opposition to Israel’s military campaign, a deep concern for the suffering of the Palestinian people, and a call for the UK government and the international community to take action. It is now up to the world leaders to listen to the voices of the people and take decisive action to end the violence and bring about a just and lasting solution to the conflict in Gaza.
