Iranian Resistance Leader: ‘Khamenei Must Go’ After U.S. Strikes Regime Nuclear Sites

June 23, 2025
in Americas

Following the recent US airstrikes on Iran’s key nuclear facilities, Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of the Iranian opposition group National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), has made a powerful statement. In a press release, she declared, “Now Khamenei must go.” This bold statement has sent shockwaves through the Iranian regime and its supporters, and has brought hope to the millions of Iranians who have long suffered under the oppressive rule of the mullahs.

The airstrikes, which targeted Iran’s Natanz nuclear enrichment facility and other key sites, were carried out in response to Iran’s continued violation of the 2015 nuclear deal. The regime has repeatedly flouted its commitments under the agreement, and has continued to pursue nuclear weapons while oppressing its own people and sponsoring terrorism around the world.

Maryam Rajavi, who has long been a vocal critic of the regime, wasted no time in calling for the removal of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In her statement, she emphasized that the regime’s nuclear program is not for peaceful purposes, but rather a means for the mullahs to maintain their grip on power. She also pointed out that the regime poses a grave threat to the security and stability of the region and the world.

Rajavi’s call for Khamenei’s removal is not just a reaction to the recent airstrikes. It is the culmination of years of resistance and struggle against the regime’s brutal and corrupt rule. The NCRI, led by Rajavi, has been at the forefront of this struggle, advocating for a free and democratic Iran where the rights and freedoms of all citizens are respected.

For decades, the Iranian people have been oppressed, silenced, and denied their basic rights by the regime. They have endured a corrupt and repressive government that has plundered the country’s resources for its own gain, while the people suffer in poverty and hardship. But the Iranian people have never given up hope for a brighter future, and their resilience and determination have been exemplified by the NCRI and its leader, Maryam Rajavi.

Rajavi’s statement is a clear rejection of the regime’s narrative that the US airstrikes were a blow to the Iranian people. On the contrary, she believes that the strikes were a necessary step towards bringing about real change in Iran. She recognizes that the regime’s nuclear program is not just a threat to the Iranian people, but to the entire world, and its removal is essential for the peace and security of the region.

The call for Khamenei’s removal is also a call for the Iranian people to take their destiny into their own hands. Rajavi has long advocated for the people of Iran to rise up against the regime and take back their country. She believes that the people have the power to bring about real change, and the recent airstrikes have given them a glimmer of hope that their voices will finally be heard.

The Iranian regime has responded to Rajavi’s statement with the usual rhetoric and threats, but they cannot deny the fact that the people of Iran are tired of their oppressive rule. The recent nationwide protests in Iran, which have been brutally suppressed by the regime, are a testament to the people’s desire for change. They have shown that they are not afraid to take to the streets and demand their rights, and Rajavi’s call for Khamenei’s removal is a reflection of this sentiment.

In conclusion, Maryam Rajavi’s statement following the US airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities is a defining moment in the struggle for a free and democratic Iran. Her call for Khamenei’s removal has given a voice to the millions of Iranians who have long suffered under the regime’s oppressive rule. She has shown that the Iranian people are ready for change and that the regime’s days are numbered. Now, more than ever, it is time for the international community to stand with the people of Iran and support their quest for freedom and democracy. As Rajavi said, “Khamenei must go,” and the Iranian people must be given the chance to determine their own future.
