Pakistan slams Zelenskyy’s claim of its nationals fighting for Russia

in Asia

Pakistan has once again rejected claims made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that Pakistani nationals are fighting alongside Russian forces in Ukraine. In a statement released on Tuesday, the Pakistani Foreign Office dismissed these allegations as baseless and without any evidence.

The statement further clarified that Pakistan has always been a responsible member of the international community and has consistently upheld the principles of non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries. Pakistan has a long-standing policy of not sending its troops or citizens to fight in conflicts outside its borders.

The Ukrainian President had made these claims during a press conference on Monday, where he alleged that Pakistani mercenaries were among the foreign fighters aiding Russian forces in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. However, the Pakistani Foreign Office has categorically denied these allegations and has called for concrete evidence to support such serious accusations.

It is worth noting that Pakistan and Ukraine have maintained friendly relations for decades, and Pakistan has always stood by Ukraine in times of need. In fact, Pakistan was one of the first countries to recognize Ukraine as an independent state in 1991 and has since then continued to support its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Pakistan has also been a strong advocate for peaceful resolution of conflicts and has consistently called for dialogue and negotiations to resolve the ongoing crisis in Ukraine. Pakistan believes that the use of force and foreign intervention will only escalate the situation and cause further suffering for the people of Ukraine.

Furthermore, Pakistan has also been actively involved in the United Nations peacekeeping missions, including in Ukraine. Pakistani troops have been deployed in Ukraine as part of the UN peacekeeping force since 1992, and have played a crucial role in maintaining peace and stability in the region.

The Pakistani government has also taken strict measures to prevent its citizens from joining any foreign conflicts or militant groups. The country has implemented strict laws and regulations to curb any such activities and has also been actively working with other countries to combat terrorism and extremism.

In light of these facts, the Pakistani Foreign Office has urged the Ukrainian government to refrain from making baseless accusations against Pakistan and to instead focus on finding a peaceful solution to the conflict in their own country. The statement also emphasized the need for responsible and evidence-based statements from world leaders, especially in times of crisis.

Pakistan remains committed to its policy of promoting peace and stability in the region and beyond. The country firmly believes in the principles of sovereignty, non-interference, and respect for international law, and will continue to uphold these values in all its international relations.

In conclusion, Pakistan rejects the claims made by the Ukrainian President and stands firm in its stance of not sending its citizens to fight in foreign conflicts. The country calls for unity and cooperation among all nations to find a peaceful resolution to the ongoing crisis in Ukraine. Pakistan remains a responsible member of the international community and will continue to play its part in promoting global peace and stability.
