Sudanese army says Khartoum “fully cleared” of paramilitary RSF

in Africa

The Sudanese army has declared the capital city of Khartoum as “completely free” of the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on Tuesday, after months of intense clashes between the two factions.

In a statement released by the army, they announced, “We announce today that the capital city of Khartoum is completely free of the RSF and all their affiliated forces.” This declaration comes as a significant victory for the Sudanese people, who have been protesting against the former regime for months, demanding a civilian-led government.

The RSF, which was formed in 2013, has been accused of committing numerous human rights violations, including the violent dispersal of peaceful protesters in Khartoum in June 2019. The clashes between the RSF and the Sudanese army have been ongoing since then, with the army vowing to remove the RSF from the capital.

Since the ousting of former President Omar al-Bashir in April, the Sudanese people have been fighting for a civilian-led government. The Transitional Military Council (TMC) took over the reins of the country after al-Bashir’s removal, but the people’s demand for a civilian government did not waver.

The Sudanese army, which has shown support for the people’s demand, has been engaged in negotiations with the TMC to establish a transitional government. However, the RSF, which is known to have close ties with the TMC, has been a major obstacle in reaching a peaceful resolution.

The clashes between the Sudanese army and the RSF have resulted in numerous casualties and have caused fear and unrest among the citizens of Khartoum. However, with the declaration of the capital as “completely free” of the RSF, the people of Sudan can breathe a sigh of relief and look towards a brighter future.

This declaration has been met with jubilation and celebrations on the streets of Khartoum. People have taken to the streets, waving flags and chanting slogans of victory. This is a significant moment for the Sudanese people, who have been fighting for their rights and their freedom.

The Sudanese army has shown immense courage and determination in their fight against the RSF. They have stood by the people and have worked tirelessly to ensure their safety and security. The declaration of Khartoum as “completely free” of the RSF is a testament to their bravery and dedication.

The army’s actions have also been praised by the international community, with many countries commending their efforts in restoring peace and stability in Sudan. The United Nations has also welcomed the declaration and has called for all parties to continue working towards a peaceful resolution.

This declaration marks a significant step towards a civilian-led government in Sudan. The people have been demanding a government that represents their interests and works towards the betterment of the country. With the RSF out of the picture, the people’s demand for a civilian government is one step closer to being fulfilled.

The Sudanese army has shown that they are committed to the well-being of the people and are willing to take necessary actions to ensure their safety. They have proven to be a true ally to the Sudanese people, and their efforts have not gone unnoticed.

As the country moves towards a brighter future, it is important to remember the sacrifices made by the people and the army in this fight for democracy. The declaration of Khartoum as “completely free” of the RSF is a significant milestone, but there is still a long road ahead. The people of Sudan must continue to stand united and work towards a peaceful and prosperous nation.

In conclusion, the declaration of Khartoum as “completely free” of the RSF is a historic moment for Sudan. The Sudanese army has shown immense courage and dedication in this fight, and their efforts have finally paid off. This victory belongs to the people of Sudan, who have stood strong in their demand for a civilian-led government. The future of Sudan looks brighter, and it is a testament to the resilience and determination of its people.
