IV Dialogue on Energy Security between Angola and the United States of America
Today, June 13, the IV Dialogue on Energy Security between Angola and the United States of America took place at the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Petroleum, and Gas in Luanda. The objective of the meeting was to discuss energy security support for Angola’s energy production and access to electricity.
The Angolan delegation was led by the Minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges, while the U.S. delegation was headed by Geoffrey Pyatt, U.S. Assistant Secretary for Energy Resources.
The Energy Security Dialogue (ESD) between the two countries focused on issues related to the secure and stable supply of energy and strengthening commercial ties in this area.
The meeting between João Baptista Borges from Angola and Geoffrey Pyatt from the United States primarily focused on addressing issues tied to the secure and stable supply of energy, strengthening commercial ties between the two countries in this sector, and discussing energy security.
Also participating in the meeting were the Angolan Secretary of State for Petroleum, José Barroso, the Chairmen of the Boards of Directors of PRODEL-EP, Pedro Afonso; RNT-EP, Rui Gourgel; ENDE, Helder Adão; Sonangol, Sebastião Martins; the Board Representative of IRSEA, José Quarta; and representatives of ANPG.
