Exclusive: Matt Gaetz Seeks to Make Sure States Can Easily Remove Illegals from Voter Rolls

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) is taking action to ensure the integrity of our nation’s elections by filing legislation that will clarify federal law and make it easier for states to remove foreign nationals, including illegal aliens, from voter rolls. This move comes as a response to growing concerns over potential voter fraud and the need to protect the rights of American citizens.

In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News, Rep. Gaetz explained the importance of his proposed legislation. He stated, “We must ensure that our elections are fair and free from any foreign interference. This starts with making sure that only American citizens are able to vote in our elections.”

Currently, federal law prohibits states from removing individuals from voter rolls unless they have died, moved out of the state, or have been declared mentally incompetent. This means that even if a state has evidence that someone on their voter rolls is not a US citizen, they are unable to remove them without facing pushback from the federal government.

Rep. Gaetz’s legislation seeks to change this by clarifying federal law and allowing states to easily remove foreign nationals, including illegal aliens, from their voter rolls. This will give states the necessary tools to ensure that only eligible voters are participating in our elections.

The issue of illegal aliens potentially voting in US elections has been a contentious topic, with many questioning the impact it may have on the outcome. In 2017, a study by the Government Accountability Institute found that as many as 5.7 million noncitizens could have voted in the 2008 election. This is a concerning number, as the votes of noncitizens could potentially sway the results of an election.

Rep. Gaetz’s proposed legislation has received support from many, including President Trump, who has been vocal about the need for voter ID laws and securing our elections. In a tweet, the President stated, “Representative Matt Gaetz is one of the finest and most talented people in Congress. Strong on Crime, the Border, Illegal Immigration, the 2nd Amendment, our great Military & Vets, Matt worked tirelessly on helping to get our massive Tax Cuts. He has my Full Endorsement!”

Not only does Rep. Gaetz’s legislation aim to protect the integrity of our elections, but it also addresses the issue of illegal immigration. By allowing states to easily remove illegal aliens from their voter rolls, it sends a strong message that our country will not tolerate those who are here illegally attempting to influence our democratic process.

Critics of the legislation argue that it may lead to voter suppression and disenfranchise eligible voters. However, Rep. Gaetz has assured that the legislation will not affect any American citizens and will only target foreign nationals who are not legally allowed to vote.

Furthermore, the legislation includes safeguards to ensure that individuals are not wrongfully removed from voter rolls. It requires that the state provide clear and convincing evidence that an individual is not a US citizen before they can be removed from the voter rolls. This will help prevent any potential abuse of the law and protect the rights of American citizens.

In addition to protecting our elections, this legislation also supports the idea of upholding the rule of law. It sends a clear message that our country will not tolerate individuals who break our laws, including those who enter our country illegally. This is a crucial step in ensuring that our immigration system is fair and just for those who enter the country legally.

Rep. Gaetz’s proposed legislation is a necessary step in safeguarding the integrity of our elections and protecting the rights of American citizens. It is a bipartisan issue that should be supported by all who value the democratic process and the rule of law.

In conclusion, Rep. Matt Gaetz’s legislation is a positive and necessary step in ensuring that only eligible voters are participating in our elections. By clarifying federal law and allowing states to easily remove foreign nationals, including illegal aliens, from voter rolls, we can protect the integrity of our elections and uphold the rule of law. This legislation has received support from both sides of the aisle and should be passed without delay. Let us come together as a nation and ensure that our elections remain fair and free from any foreign interference.
