Civilians killed in attack by Daesh terrorists in Afghanistan

September 14, 2024
in Asia

Several civilians were tragically killed on Thursday in central Afghanistan after Daesh terrorists opened fire in a cowardly and senseless attack. The incident occurred in the province of Ghazni, where unknown gunmen opened fire on innocent civilians, leaving a trail of devastation and heartache in their wake.

According to local authorities, the attack took place in the early hours of the morning, when the victims were going about their daily routines. The gunmen, believed to be members of the terrorist group Daesh, opened fire indiscriminately, showing no regard for the innocent lives they were taking. The attack has been condemned by government officials and community leaders, who have expressed their deep sorrow and outrage at the senseless loss of life.

Abdul Matin Qaderi, the governor of Ghazni province, confirmed the tragic incident and expressed his condolences to the families of the victims. He stated, “Unknown gunmen have opened fire and have killed several civilians in our province. We are deeply saddened by this heinous act and our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims.”

The exact number of casualties is still unclear, but reports suggest that at least six civilians were killed and several others were injured in the attack. The victims were all innocent civilians, going about their daily lives and trying to provide for their families. It is a tragic reminder of the constant threat that terrorism poses to innocent people all over the world.

The attack has once again highlighted the need for continued efforts to combat terrorism and ensure the safety and security of civilians. Daesh, also known as the Islamic State, has been responsible for numerous attacks in Afghanistan in recent years, targeting both civilians and security forces. The group has been known for its brutal tactics, including suicide bombings and mass executions, in their pursuit of creating chaos and fear.

The Afghan government, with the support of the international community, has been actively working to eliminate the threat of terrorism in the country. The Afghan National Security Forces have been engaged in fierce battles with Daesh militants, successfully pushing them back and reclaiming territory. However, attacks like these serve as a reminder that the fight against terrorism is far from over and requires continued vigilance and cooperation.

The attack has also sparked outrage and condemnation from the international community. The United Nations has strongly condemned the attack, with the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) stating, “The deliberate targeting of civilians is a clear violation of international humanitarian law and cannot be justified under any circumstances.” The UN has called for those responsible to be brought to justice and for measures to be taken to prevent such attacks in the future.

The attack has also brought the community together in solidarity and support for the victims and their families. Local residents have expressed their shock and sadness at the tragic incident and have called for unity and resilience in the face of such senseless violence. The community has also come together to provide assistance and support to the families of the victims, showing the true spirit of humanity in the face of adversity.

In the midst of this tragedy, it is important to remember that the people of Afghanistan are resilient and strong. They have faced numerous challenges and have always come out stronger and more determined to build a better future for themselves and their country. The cowardly actions of terrorists will not break their spirit or their resolve to create a peaceful and prosperous Afghanistan.

As the nation mourns the loss of innocent lives, it is also a time to reflect on the need for continued efforts to combat terrorism and promote peace and stability in the region. The international community must stand together in solidarity and support the Afghan government in their efforts to eliminate the threat of terrorism. Together, we can overcome this menace and create a safer and more peaceful world for all.

In conclusion, the attack in central Afghanistan on Thursday is a tragic reminder of the constant threat of terrorism and the need for continued efforts to combat it. The loss of innocent lives is a senseless and cowardly act that must be condemned by all. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims, and we must stand together in solidarity to overcome this threat and create a better future for all.
