Claudia Sheinbaum, the National Coordinator for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation, announced the formalization of a significant coalition with the Confederation of Autonomous Workers and Employees of Mexico (CATEM), with the aim of continuing the country’s transformation initiated by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
Sheinbaum highlighted that this coalition is based on the shared commitment to advance the Fourth Transformation (4T) and seeks to unite the people in the Fourth Transformation of Mexico’s public life.
She expressed her satisfaction in formalizing this alliance during the XV National Ordinary Congress of CATEM, where she reiterated her commitment to defend labor rights and the welfare of workers. Sheinbaum emphasized the importance of the country moving forward towards the future and not reverting to the past, and she underscored the achievements in wage matters during the administration of López Obrador.
She also announced the commencement of her pre-campaign for the Presidency of the Republic in 2024, pledging to continue working for the Mexican people. The unionized members of CATEM committed to forming over 10,000 labor committees in support of the Fourth Transformation.
